So I just read about all of the features that Uconnect is getting added in 2016. Does anyone thing that the 2014-2015 8.4Ns will get the update that the 2016s will have. Apple Airplay and Android Car could be game changers for the 8.4 systems.

No doubt it.
Unfortunately if you want the updates you'll have to buy a new truck that comes with them.

While I would love for an update for the older 8.4s... I highly doubt it. From my understanding CarPlay and Android Auto need specific hardware, it is not just a simple software update.

Especially with a lot of people bricking their '13 and '14 8.4s with the 2015 software updates. If the reviews come in that CarPlay is implemented right and works well, then I might consider sourcing a 2016+ unit and swapping. Hopefully there will still be a market for the older 8.4s then.
