Did you have to buy the tuner https://www.crutchfield.com/p_220SXV300/SiriusXM-SXV300V1-Tuner.html?tp=87 in order to retain satellite radio?

I don’t have steering wheels controls on my steering wheel. I just have that I data and maestro. Didn’t do satellite radio because I use Spotify. But guy did tell me I could plug a remote set up in to run off my head phone jack in center console.
