Here's a quick review of the CompuStar CS800 remote start I had installed yesterday...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yHXPSN-200
And, to sum the video up;
- You can use the remote start to keep your vehicle running when exiting the vehicle.
- (With the 5.0 radio) if you have your truck set to honk on door lock, it will honk when the remote start starts. If you turn the honk of, it will not honk. Unfortunately, it looks like it's both or neither right now for the 5.0 screen. I haven't found how I can turn off the starter while allowing the locks.
- The remote starter comes with a 4 button remote, but you can also press the lock button 3X on your factory remote, if you don't want to carry both remotes.
Side note, if you watch Best Buy's deal of the day, they run this for $189 installed now and then and that's when I grabbed it. The only other thing I needed was the hood switch which was all of $10. So, around $199 installed and out the door.
