I hate these center channel equipped systems and no way to turn off the centric focused performance.

Are there any issues with pulling the center channel speaker as far as the rest of the system performing?

I just need a little up front separation.

Thanks!

Well... I don't think any one has tried... but would only take a few minutes to try your self. I'd say go for it.

Oh, I gotta doubt I'm the first guy who has tried it.

I'm interested in finding out what happened when they did.

I didn't even know there was a center channel. More than likely it just combines the left and right signal so pulling it would have zero effect. (This is just my opinion since most audio played in a vehicle is not encoded for a true center channel.)

I pulled mine a while ago and had zero issues. I disconnected it and left it there.

Cool, BlkRamRt.

And that's probably caused by That Darn Center Channel Speaker!

Surround sound should never be installed in a manly truck. Leave it for the mommy vans please.

I upnplugged mine about 4 months after buying the truck - so about 3.5 years ago!

Big improvement in sound in my opinion. Much more definition from L to R as well.

Unhook that center speaker. Prob increase depth if anything...that center channel is so easy to pin-point when it's playing music.

Not sure about that. When I built my "theater" I made sure I had kick ass surround sound cause that is what you want.

The problem with surround sound in a vehicle is that almost 0 of your signals are encoded for it and thus it sucks. If things were encoded correctly and the head units had the proper logic then surround would be way more manly of a thing to have in your vehicle.

Slightly, I could hear the music coming from the center more than anything. After It gave the music more of an equal feel vs is coming from the center only. Almost like is gave it more width and depth (not much but it was better). Weeks after I started dismantling my whole system for an upgrade which I haven't yet finished. :emotions122:

Thanks for the input. That's what I am looking for, some depth and separation, so I'll pull it out and see what happens!

Am I missing something? I can turn the surround off via the headunit. Why would you bother disconnecting the speaker?

So can I but when I do, the center channel is still active.

So, disconnecting it would be the most viable option to eliminate the center channel.

Real question is why haven't you done this yet and reported back?
