Factory alarm broken??

So, i just bought a new 2016 2500 with the 6.4 and the Big Horn edition. I have the 8.4" Uconnect with nav and the whole 9 yards. I set it up online so that I will receive a text message when the alarm goes off. I tried to test it, but I cant get the alarm to go off. Over the phone the dealer told me to roll the windows down, lock the truck, wait 5 minutes, then reach inside the truck and open the door, the alarm should go off. But the alarm doesnt go off. Is the alarm broken, or not enabled, or what?

how did you lock the truck? reason i ask is on some cars you need to hit the lock button on the fob 2x to turn on the alarm. i have not tried it on my '15 but in the past that is how it was.

It may not be enabled, I know on my Challenger it wasn't... the red light would flash but no alarm til I had the dealership activate it.
