Will a flash drive work in one of the USB ports to play music? I tried and it says its coming up as a error, i do have documents on it as well, or what do I do?

I use the USB port inside my center console to play music all the time. The one on the dash is supposedly for charging.

Check the drive, some have software/firmware on them that'll keep it from being read by something like a stereo. Had this issue on my Mazda and the wife's Edge. Bought several different USB sticks till I figured that out.
