I'm looking to upgrade my sound system for the summer and keep having the issue with the front door speaker size. I have searched google and I have seen that some people are running the Focal 6.75 but on Crutchfield they say that only the 5.25 will fit the front doors. Is there a special way I would need to install them or is crutchfield just being cautious with the sizing? I'm worried that if i go with the smaller size that I will loose a lot of mid bass.

I'm planning on running the focals up front with the tweeter in the panel by the front windows, focal integration 6x9 in the rear with the JL Dual 10" Stealthbox.

I have a 2012 Ram 1500 Crew Cab (non-alpine) with the Kenwood 990HD and Kicker 6.5 coaxial in the front, Kicker KS 3.5 in the dash, and Kicker 6x9 3 way in the rear, no amp. I blew the stock speakers on the way home from the dealership lol.

You can make anything fit, just depends on how much work you want to put into it.

As for a bolt in minimal work, look for a conversion plate for a 6x9 to either speaker your looking at. I believe there are a few companies that make a spacer adapter or if your handy you can easily make an adapter like seen in graygoose's pic.

Lol your lawyer was pretty convincing, but we settled on a new avatar instead of cash.

Im glad to hear that the 6.75 will fit! Did you make your own adapter or did you make it yourself? I'm tempted to take the adapter that Crutchfield sent me for the 6.5 Kickers and cutting the hole bigger

I put in 6.75 focals. On Ebay I found a 6x9 by 6.5 adapter plate a 1/2" thick made of abs (didn't want wood in the doors since I'm living Oregon. And every thing fit fine

Do they have a place that you can work on personal projects? or is this your own shop?
The doors were made at our install guys old shop, they have a new one now, and we have an OEM install bay. So several luckily to choose form.

That dude took more than his 33%! :)

All custom, but I liked the way there was no more factory grill....Im sure you could do a 6.75" without all the extra build.

Its not going to be the diameter that is the issue but rather the depth. Without an adapter there is a little less than 3 inches of clearance until you hit the window track in the front door. You can generally fit about 1/2 inch thick adapter before you run into the back of the door card. Take excursion into account also.

If you make your adapter off center, you will have a bit more depth before hitting the window track. Scosche makes one that's off center but you probably have to dremel the cutout larger.
