I got back to the office today from my trip to Florida and was happy to find several boxes waiting at my desk.

Preparing to replace my not so premium "Alpine Premium Audio" in my 2012 Ram 1500 Sport Crew. The sound is just not what I want currently. I am keeping the stock RHB 430n head unit since I like the Nav and such, and will be doing a custom iPad setup since 99.9% of the time I am using digital audio anyway.

Dang!!!! Beautiful set up! You're gonna love the REs if you've never ran those subs before. If you have, you already know. Lol

I had orginally ordered the Kicker CVX 12s (which I am sure would have been great) to keep with the same brand speakers, but a friend of mine let me hear the RE SEX subs and I was in love. Amazing subs and designed to work well in the smaller encloser. He said the Kickers just would not be at home in a sealed setup like the SEXs would.

nice man...i'm probly going the alpine way but my question is where are you putting the 6x9 's and the 6 1\2 components? Are you gonna power any of them with the amp or the amp is just for the subs?

Looks like you are going to have a bangin system though.

6x9 in the rear doors, 6.5 in the front doors.

There are a total of 4 amps involved in the setup.

The MS-8 has 8 channels that can be amped or line out. I will use 3 of them amped to the front 3 speakers since the KS35s are rated at 6-20rms and the MS-8 is 20-30rms per channel.

The other 5 channels will be run line level to the other 3 amps. 4 channels to the JBL MS-A1004 that will power the front and rear doors, and sub channel run mono to the 2 Kicker IX1000.1 that will each run one sub. Both IX1000.1 birth sheets show well over 1100 watts, so will be running them at 4ohm each to the subs for clean sound, low heat, and less work to the electrical system.

Overall I should have more than enough power to push clean watts without running any amp under 4 ohms. I probably spent more than I should have, but this gets real addictive during the planning stages.

The goal is to maintain all 8 channels of the MS-8 to be able to run the Logix7 surround sound.

The external DAC should produce clean lossless audio and make for an amazing setup. Just have to decide on how I want to mount the iPad, and talk JJ into using his painting connections once I finish the fiberglass work on the center console.

bring it on! :D

Watch out... your next product will end up being custom iPad audio integration.

I am still playing around with how I want to integrate the ipad into the center console. Brainstorming a linear actuator idea involving the storage compartment in the center console that will hide away or be at your fingertips. As it evolves I will run them by you and see what you think.

BTW, the sound deadening products came in today, was a bit shocked how heavy that stuff is.

Wooh! I'm a big fan of the MS-8. That DSP is amazing. Solid choice on doing the sound deadener correctly.

Started gutting the truck on friday. Like my other mods, this has been fun to learn about. Taking a lot longer than expected since i am trying to do it right. Hopefully i can have it back together by the end of next weekend.

Battery with new terminals installed. The damn pos and neg teminals are swapped from stock. Going to have to add wiring to the stock cables. I finished the Big 3 with 0 gauge knukonceptz power wire. That is some fat wire!
