Hardware v1 need switched 12v under dash

As the subject states. I started my I install and need a switched 12v source under the dash anyone have suggestions on which wire I should tap?

There are a few in the wires coming down the steering column. Depends on what your looking for specifically. There should be a manual for your truck on here somewhere in the 4th Gen. area. I will see if I can find it for you.

Do you have the OE trailer brake controller? That's where I tapped mine. I searched all over under there. It was difficult to find a switched +12V. I didn't know how difficult it was to get to the cig lighter.

I do have the brake controller plug. I currently have my p3 plugged into it. Although I don't know if that is switched due to the fact that the p3 stays on after I turn the ignition off. Some say its supposed to turn off after 15 minutes but I have not left it plugged it in that long

Sorry for the late reply. There is a switched +12V on the small plug for the brake controller. There was also one always hot. IIRC, the switched wire was pink -- with green stripe.
