I was driving to work this morning and all of a sudden both of my headlights just turned off. Thinking it's my headlight switch, I moved it from auto to on, no change.

The lights came back on, and turned off a few more times. I hooked up my cortex tuner and got 3 of the same codes I've had in the past when having issues with my lights.

Left high beam circuit open
Left low beam circuit open
Lost communication with radio

The last time I had issues, I moved all of the grounds directly to the neg post on the battery and the problems went away. That was about a year ago.

NOW.. Last night I did use my high beams a few times, maybe this has something to do with it? I normally don't use them, and haven't until last night since moving the grounds.

I need some help, I can't be driving around with unpredictable lights.

the highs should have no impact on this at all. If both went out, check the fuse, check the connection on the driver's side (the trigger)

If it was a fuse wouldn't they stay off? They shut off then come back on after about 5-10 mins

corrosion on the fuse could cause it to do that.

Hell, corrosion anywhere on the setup could do that.

So check the fuse on the hid harness? If it looks good what else could it be?

there are way too many things that it could be. Check every connection for corrosion. If you have HID ballasts for your fogs try those in there, see if it makes a difference.

Fuse looks fine, no fogs. I'll start checking connections tomorrow

id put grounds back to bare metal frame. Check if theres power going to the main feed that powers the relays(plug from the truck that plugged to the HID harness) Check make sure the cap is good. I'd start with. Also a multimeter to check voltages would help.

Think I found the problem, loose wire on the harness where they all lead into the plug that the relay connects to. All I did was wiggle that part of the harness and they came back on
