Needing a wire guru for this one. I converted a 2015 ram 1500 ecodiesel SLT to a have a sport front end and so now i have the projector headlights. I used the retrofit harness to adapt them to my quad headlight wiring which works great. Then i installed HIDs in my fogs and lows (last year...when there was no HID kit for 15s) which required me to track down a wire behind the dash to use as the signal wire since i was having no luck using the low beam wire as a signal with it being what i would call a "digital" wire (does not send a constant current so the relay would buzz on/off). So anyways i managed to get the HIDs working by running the signal wire for the relay behind the dash and cutting the lowbeam wire in the retrofit harness (no error codes or light out codes at all surprisingly). But now my issue i am having is that my truck being Canadian it has DRLs, and since it is an SLT it sends a low voltage signal through the highbeam wire and not to the amber LEDs like a normal Canadian model sport would have. So now I have ordered the DRL-1 module so that i can use the amber LED turn signals as my DRLs instead. But then i will want my highbeam DRL (factory DRL) disabled. I just brought my truck in to a dealer to have it disabled as they told me it was possible...now they are telling me it is NOT possible after looking at my truck for an hour. So i have been on the phone with dealership after dealership and even called Ram direct and they told me to bring it to a dealership....

SO now i am at the point where i am done trying to disable the highbeam DRL and am simply going to cut the highbeam wire on each retrofit harness and instead i will run a relay harness to my highbeams but in order to do so i need to find an analog wire that only comes live when the highbeam is turned on. SO long story short, i need a wiring guru that knows which wire i can splice in to to use as a signal wire for a relay to control my highbeams with normal functionality like i did with my low beams.

And secondly, if someone is able to figure that out... maybe they would also know of an analog signal wire that only comes live when the fog lights are on?

OR maybe someone knows how to actually disable DRLs on 2015 Canadian Ram trucks!? This would be the easiest but it is seeming like it is simply not possible.

If anyone finds themselves facing this issue.. dealers are all saying it is simply not possible anymore to disable the DRLs on Canadian model trucks, even talking to a Ram technician specialist on the phone they too said it is simply no longer possible to shut them off. Which completely baffles me and I still find it hard to believe... (however it is possible to turn them on if you have an American model truck)

So anyways i started looking for this wire as above and couldn't find one anywhere that worked. So annoyed I started looking at the switch and to my surprise I immediately found a spot to solder a wire and make my own (what I would call) analog signal wire for my high beams (12v constant when my highs are on). I will be fully wiring everything tomorrow and can update if it works and if there are any error codes coming up.

I had the dealer deactivate half power drl's on mine and activate the normal DRL sales code so that I could run my projectors. I cheated and didn't use the projector harnesses, just bought the factory projector headlight harness and plugged that in.

Well just to update. The relay set up and wire I soldered on to the switch does work. Bypasses the headlight module on the truck whIle allowing the dash light to activate normally and highs to function properly. Because it is a negative signal you need 2 relays wired together to switch the ground and then change it to a switched positive. I have no error codes coming up.

Is yours a 2015? All of my local dealers in the GVRD area have told me it's not possible or that they dont know how to. And calling ram technical support specialist even said they can't on the 2015s. But basically all I needed done was exactly what you're saying and it could have saved me a lot of time and frustration. They said it's no longer an option past 2014 to shut them off even if changing my region to USA. And that activating sales code (LR5 I think?) would not work as my truck does not have the correct wire in my factory headlight harness so regardless of the adapters I have, it seems there's 2 reasons it wouldn't work through the computer programming on mine. But if you have a 2015 I would love to know how they did it. I still can't imagine that with today's technology it's "not possible" but that seems to be the answer I get.
