Anyone know what two wires I can tap into from the mirror to get 12v aux and ground?

See Jeepguy1980, I believe he installed one in his mirror and is very knowledgeable about wiring.

Go to Invisicord's web site.

I used their info on the Dodge Ram mirror tap. The colors were spot on.

Blendmount with a Passport Max and Escort live DW.

Blendmount with a Passport Max and Escort live DW.

Went to the site, they are informing me of two different colors. :(

One writes:
Power - Pink middle of bottom row (yellow heatshrink of Invisicord)
Ground - Black end of top row (black heatshrink of Invisicord)

Another writes:
The yellow wire goes to the pink/blue wire
black goes to black w/green stripe. There are five wires 1 switch pink/blue black w/green stripe ground white is constant power and 2 grey wires for auto tint side mirrors

Ordered one of these, but I have a 2014 express and it wouldn't work, tested with a meter.

Asked this before, but is my only option running a cord all the way from the cig plug to the mirror area up the a-pillar?

Off topic, but don't drive in Virginia with that thing mounted in sight or you may find yourself with a State Trooper lighted up behind you :)

I have one RD that I share between my car and my truck. The little wire above the mirror is for my remote start antenna.

I have 2- Escort Live direct wire modules. (That's the blue thing on top of my mirror). 2 Blendmounts. 2-Invisicord taps.

I won't get into the Escort Live deal. It's not needed and lots of info on the web. I like it and it's an option.

When you use your meter, there are 2 hot wires when you turn the ignition to on. One is constant 12V power. The other is controlled by the Can-bus system.

If you tap into the Can-bus one, as soon as you plug in an accessory to it, the voltage will drop to 2.5 volts.

I just did the one in my car 3 weeks ago. That's how I found out about the Can-bus one. It drove me nuts. I had no one to help out and figured it out on my own.

Try both of them on Invisicords site. I think I tried to first one and it worked no problem. If not, try the second one. You won't hurt anything.

Take the mirror off and you can remove the harness that goes into the mirror to make it easier. It's a ***** to take out, but it does come out. I didn't have to on my truck, but did on my car. (Lack of working room due to the mirror position and windshield slant)

It's a clean install. Leaves my other power points free. No wires across my radio or vents. It's keyed so when I shut off, so does the RD.

If I remember on my car, the power was the top right one upper row and the ground was the 2nd one from the right on the bottom row. (Standing in front of the car looking at the back of the mirror when installed). I can't remember my truck since I did it in December.

If you have the powered mirror, it will work. Just remember there's 2 hot. Just using the meter will trick you to thinking it's good until you plug in a load.

Without knowing the specifics of your truck (i.e. VIN), this is what I assume to be correct.

BLACK/LIGHT GREEN wire - Pin 8 - Top row on the end: Ground
PINK/LIGHT GREEN wire - Pin 13 - Bottom row, fourth from the end: Switched +12V

Pictures worth a 1000 words.

I just went out and took some pictures of the tap on my truck. The taps are near the bottom of the mirror for reference. The harness clips in sideways with the clip at the right side of the mirror.

This is on my 2010 Ram if that make a difference and it works.

Pictures came out sideways.... so to the right is the bottom of my mirror.

Hope this helps.

So how do you take the mirror off of a 2014? I have the auto dimming mirrors but there is no wiring harness running into the mirror itself. I can see some wires behind the plastic cover over the mount but have not figured out how it all comes apart. Help me before I brake something expensive.

Sweet. Except I can only twist the mirror less than 45 degrees then it hits the head liner.

Twist the mirror the opposite direction, to give yourself a bit more room. The mirror is still going to hit the headliner.
