Piper, see post 90 for links to it.

No one is making the harnesses like jeepguy1980 did. I could do it, but I don't have all the p/n's he found for all the pins at the 4 connectors or the chassis harness lengths for the different truck configurations.

I know we sadly lost Jeep_Guy last year
I was wondering if anyone has taken up the job of making the custom harness he was making. If not does anyone have a picture of his harness and the detailed instruction for the install he included in the custom harness he was selling?
I just purchased the OEM rear camera from the dealer and will be doing the install myself. I have an appointment this week to have the computer flashed for the integrated brake controller I installed and at the same time I going to have them flash the rear camera.
Any help would be appreciated

I have one of his harnesses that I have removed from my old truck. Not sure if i'm going to be using it on my new one yet. If not, I'll sell them to you.

Measure it and tells us what truck/trim/Cab & bed it came off of.

I have an appt for July 31. I may drop off before so I will keep y guys posted on my situation
Definitely keep us informed ! Do you know the P/N on your camera mounted in the tailgate handle ?
Mine is 56038978AH . I'd like to know yours , I found out today there are lots of these cameras on the shelf @ chrysler; however, they will not release them and this camera is due to be replaced by P/N same AI & same AJ , and these two new cameras 2300 on back order are not available for purchase yet ? couldn't find out why these are being held , but I'm hoping it's due to some sort of defect ...

UPDATE : for those who don't know , I recently installed the OEM TAILGATE BACKUP CAMERA KIT P/N 82214240 which I aquired from my local dealer , then went back and had them Flash code XAC .
I've never had the Active Grid lines in my RA2 5.0 radio screen ? I've reverified all the install , and I do not have the Active grid lines option to turn on or off in my Safety/ Parkview settings on my Radio either ??
I'm not positive what generates these lines and or this option ? The Flashed XAC code ? The RA2 5.0 Radio software ? Or the camera itself ? Any help.would be appreciated !
My camera p/n is 56038978AH which I found out yesterday is on the shelf but being held not for sale per my dealers Parts mgr. And the p/n is changing to an AI and an AJ (no reason posted on his parts base site as of why) only that there is 2,300 on Back order ??

Does anyone else out there with an RA2 5.0 RADIO with a backup cam factory install or OEM Kit installed have this issue?? ( no active gridlines displayed )
Thanks in advance for any insight !
I've got an appointment with my dealer today to REFLASH XAC ,
the SVC dept guy I spoke to says this will not help , I'm not sure but it's just a troubleshooting step for me ( process of elimination ) sorry for the long post , I'm just frustrated. ..

I don't believe I have that settings option for the Active Gridlines either. Might be dependent on the Radio's Software Version though.
Yep, no option for grid lines in my radio. Not sure what Sw version im on or how to tell. I do know there is a Sw update for me though.uploadfromtaptalk1437495272620.jpg

Perhaps you can reload the radio Sw via USB drive from the Uconnect site, or the camera is bad ( maybe they can pull one out of another truck if they can't pull from parts).
Your not the first person I have seen this happen to, but no one bothered to chase it since they had video.

Well MTGTS, this is strange...

1) You definitely have the 3 Video wires going from the i315 Connector at the Brake pedal up to the back of the radio's C1 (color's match at both ends)

2) You do not appear to have the 5-6 wires coming into the C322 from the tailgate's factory i550 connector.
This is weird b/c it appears those wires are at the i550 end in your previous pictures (unless that was not the end going forward to C322), which leaves me wondering where they went? Did they just fold the wires back and tape them off in the harness just before the connector? IDK.
** Q: Can you get a better picture of the i550 showing all the wires/colors? **

Perhaps we are overlooking something. Some options:

- Use the 2500 schematic from post 14, disconnect the battery and find a way to ohm out the pins from the i550 to the i315 etc. Perhaps they have done something different that is not in the schematic.

- Verify that you have the following parts in the tailgate:
Camera Lock Jumper Harness P/N P68096415AC
Tailgate Wire Harness P/N P68189124AB

- Purchase the RAM OEM Add-on Camera Kit and install it, if you don't feel like digging through the connectors/pins/wiring using the prints to verify things.
@ MTGTS,
Well, after a few hours with MS Snipping Tool, MS Paint and cut/paste this morning on the TechAuthority site, here is your official "AS-Installed" Factory schematic using your VIN...
2014 Ram 2500 MTGTS Existing Camera Wiring - Partial for Forum.png
(I have circled where the wires are missing from the factory)

If you look at it you are missing the wires from the i550 to the Chassis C322 connector (5-6 wires). It also appears that the camera shield is not connected inside the tailgate jumper harness (which you ordered). It may actually be connected, and I wouldn't be in a rush to change this one.
You said you also added the correct tailgate lock/camera pigtail which you pulled from the old truck.

My assumption here is that your picture of the i550 Tailgate connector is the wrong side of it, or there is actually a short extension on it like 70Chall440 had on his 2500 in Post 22.

So go hunt around under there and get more pictures for/around the i550. My bet is that if you managed to get jeepguy's chassis harness out of your old truck with all the pins/gaskets intact and it's long enough, you will be able to use it, but you have to find the correct connectors (and pin it correctly).

*done

Get that RA2's software updated too
These guys are a bit dificult to deal with , I'm pretty sure they did not reflash , and I wasn't gonna ask them to do anything else . I'll be updating my software myself as soon as I get a clean 4gig thumb drive !

I do have the small extension. Here are some pics of the other side of that.

@MTGTS,
Yep, you only have the lock wires going forward in the 2nd picture, but you have everything else.
If you follow jeepguy1980's original instructions for the chassis harness you removed and reference the print for your truck i posted, you should be OK. But DO NOT get the pins wrong / colors mixed up since that harness is different than everyone else's and the OEM stuff.

PS: you never posted the length of that harness

Has anyone had an issue after having camera flashed of blue screen but going into settings and being able to control delay for camera and option for lines.i have a RA2 I have checked all connections and pins other then the one a BCM. The dealer finished up wiring at PDC and BCM but left the Orange with dark blue tracer wire just hanging.

I have had all parts put in or installed by the dealer. I have tried to repair wiring they left out. When put into reverse I get a blue screen with "check your surroundings" I can go into safety settings and change delay for camera to turn off also shows line option but won't accept changes on the display line side. The kit is the factory 82214240. I have checked all wiring and seems to be pinned properly. Does anyone have an idea if this is a flash issue or if the wiring is causing this at the BCM plug.

Okay , you said the dealer left the OR/ DKBL just hanging , is the purple wire soldered to this orange &Dkblue ? The yellow wire taped back ( not connected to anything ) and the Radio C1 connector has the gr/blue 31 , grey/orange 32 and bare shield 33 ?
