Food for thought... have you considered hard wiring in a charging port? This would help secure it, and keep it charged at all times. Also have you thought about how you would remove it? A small notch at the top to get your finger behind could work as well. Here is mine when I had it in my Challenger.

Nice step up
The plan is to do both, going to drill out a hole in the bottom and glue in a charger and going to notch out a spot in the top so the iPad can slide in and out

Thanks
No top tray as that is where the I pad will slide in and out but it will still will be secured in by the same bolts

Update 12/13/15

BIG UPDATE IPAD IS IN THE DASH:favorites13:

It's mounted in the dash, ac control are moved to the storage try but it's NOT DONE :buffer::superhack: I still need to finish all the fine details make everything smooth i also need make and the inside storage cubby

The ipad slides in and out though the top slot, under the ipad is the factory radio and there will also be a storage cubby to fill the empty space (for now its open and the traction control button is in that space) I will be mounting the traction control and tow hall buttons on the left side of the dash right above the the parking brake release.
Everything is going smoothly besides the fact I had to hack up the inside of dash to sink the radio in and make room for the ipad housing
Sorry for the sideways pic I'll post more pic tomorrow when i have some time

I love it, with it out can you access the factory radio? Why did you choose BT over the iPod connection or AUX?

Yes with the ipad out you can access the factory radio, that part of the build is unfinished I still need to build a cover panel with a storage box I will be posting pics as soon as I start that build.
I chose to use BT because I'm going upgrade my whole system and the new system will be relaying on BT for audio
The factory system is only for meantime.

Nice work. I have been working on the same thing on my truck but not with the pro. I used a Sony app radio in my truck. I hid it behind the iPad. With the app installed, your iPad controls the radio.

Update: so over the the last few weeks i reworked the whole thing, i didnt like how far in the ipad was sunk in. so heres version 2.0
still in primer. Its abit different, but much better in person It still needs alot of fine detail work mainly around the ac vents and pannel lines. I also have a mock up of what under the ipad is going to look like.

You should seriously consider making that a mold and finding a company to partner with. I could see these bezels flying off the shelves for RA2 radio owners.

Wadestar, a user on this forum designs and produces things like this. I bet he could help. He's made a cellphone holder and is in the process of making custom tow mirrors specific to our trucks.

I'll put it this way. I don't even own a tablet, but I'd by one of I could get my hands on that bezel of yours.
