Only had the truck a week, but needed some better audio quality. Decided I only wanted to replace the 6 stock speakers and leave the amp and subwoofer for a later time.

I searched around on YouTube and this forum and finally landed upon this video:

Went ahead and purchased the speakers used in the install video. Total it was under $170.

Can't be happier with the sound quality. Blows away the crappy stock speakers. Highly recommend doing the upgrade, install wasn't hard at all.

Was this upgrade on a non-Alpine system?

i think the KS are a little deeper (1/16 or so). the issue with the KS series is that the stock head unit doesn't have enough power to make them sound nice. The CS or DS would be a better choice if you don't plan on adding an amplifier. anything is better than the stock garbage.

General questions.

It seems I have to turn the volume past 25 for the speakers to really play loud. Is this a problem an amp would fix?

What kind of amp should I be looking for to power all 6 speakers?

What's pricing like?

An amp would fix that.

I would run a 5 channel amp to leave room on the table for adding a sub later if you wanted.
