Before I pull the trigger tonight on these speaker upgrades a had a few questions for people that have already installed them. I'm getting mixed information of plug and play readiness. Do either of these sets require additional harnesses at purchase to drop in? Also, I have read a review or two regarding the KSC354s having a crackle and pop from bass? Do the newest additions with the poly switch remedy that?

77KICK42 is for the Alpine Premium, do you have that, or the base audio?

The KSC354, if you get from Crutchfield, ask for the wire adapters, makes install easy.

I don't have the alpine system. What are my choices for aftermarket door speakers?

@Graygoose am I going to have to buy an amp for door speakers or are there any that I can drop in and get better sound than stock?

This is what Crutchfield recommended to me for my base 5.0 uConnect. I don't know if it helps you out.

No, I did an online chat yesterday. It's what they recommended with the 5.0 uConnect. If I swapped the head unit out they recommended better speakers.

May just go with the kickers for now. Slight upgrade, nothing fancy.

The Kicker mentioned will be a huge upgrade, the stock paper cones just don't reproduce very well.

bskool, try replacing speakers, you may not need an amp. But if you want too later, then at least the speakers would be ready :)

Hey greygoose wich do you think would sound better in the doors with the 5.0 between the kicker 41Dsc654's 6 1/2 " speakers or the alpine SPR69's 6x9" speakers

The 6x9's will offer more midbass (or should)

I'd rather be honest, then lie and sway you to my brand. :)

You will need base blockers for those dash speakers. If you haven't already purchased them buy them from Crucifield. They usually give you the harnesses for free when you buy the speakers from them.

I just installed these today and simple plug n play with supplied adapters from Crutchfield. I did NOT install any bass blockers. The Crutchfield rep said these Kickers were the high end 3 1/2" KS series and can handle the amount of bass sent to them without issue. I have to agree and I must say these were worth the $49.99 and 20min it took to install them. Sound is vastly improved vs stock and I assume they will get better after they break in a bit. A+ mod. (I have a 2015 CC with the BASE 8.4 stereo)

In about a week maybe a little longer you'll be opening it back up to throw on some bass blockers. It's gonna sound like someone is eating a bowl of Rice Crispies on every song you listen to.

Depends on the setting on the HU, but he shouldn't need them.

Installed the dash and rear doors. A little improvement but not much. They are clearer, but not impressed.. I guess you get what you pay for. I haven't installed the front doors because I am wondering if I should return them and just get the mopar kicker upgrade.

Reference video for rear door speaker replacement.

Installed the front door speakers, so all 6 speakers have been changed out. Sound now is on track. I guess not doing all the speakers at the same time made a difference. Audio is clearer all around. No a huge difference, but the difference is good enough for me.
