I found out on my st base radio system you dont have to use that high dollar adapter. I went on ebay got the plug and mounting kit for my 2012. I got my truck with the base cd and satellite because i knew i would pull it out. All you have to do is wire the plug up and run a switch hot to the radio and it work mines been like this for over a year. Thought this may help for the guys like me that are into audio and dont want to buy the adapter only to pull it out after a year. As im in the middle of rewiring all the speakers now.
