it’s nice because you determine what length you want versus what some website thinks you want, you don’t lose reception and best of all it’s free.

I got one of the universal rubber ones from Advance Auto. So far no issues. I like the look a lot better than stock. Didn't even think about cutting and painting the stock one, but I like that idea too.

Bought a cheap antenna from China, was like $2.30 shipped and looks good and reception is great. I tried antenna x and had terrible reception and looked bad, this cheap one fits antenna base excellent. Like it so much bought another just in case I ever need it.

Take it off. Use tape on the ball and pliers to wiggle it off. Cut it where you want it. Sharpen the antenna end so it fits into the ball, dab of Jb weld, paint it and toss it back on. Cake job and looks great!
And Free....lol

Just popped the ball off a spare Ram antenna I had, trimmed to 10”, smoothed down the tip on the bench grinder till the ball almost went on, tapped it on down with a hammer. Sweetness! Hopefully this bastage won’t whistle like everything else I’ve tried!

This is the first one I cut down. Others were various short antennas I tried. Whistled bad!
