Mopar Kicker Door/Dash Speaker Upgrade Installed

A few weeks ago I picked up a 2014 Regular Cab Express truck to test some new performance parts on. I will be driving this truck a lot over the next 6 months or so, and the base factory stereo is definitely lacking. A few PM's back and forth with Greygoose, and he recommended I go with the Plug-n-play Mopar Kicker Upgrade. I didnt want to add a sub because I'm not wanting any extra weight, so this was the easiest upgrade option.

It was very nice not having to buy any extra wiring harnesses or connectors to install these in the truck, and the install took less than 30 minutes from start to finish. I did not change the head unit or add any amplifier, but the sound is much more crisp and clear. I'm sure putting a little more power to them would make them sound even better, but I am very happy with the swap considering that these are fairly inexpensive and so easy to install. The Mopar part# for this kit is 77KICK28AB. Here are a few pics of the new setup...

I'm glad you got better sound, but I have one question about the first picture----What are those black cylinders in the background?????? LOL

Dont worry about those little guys. They are safely tucked away in the freezer right now getting ready to be filled tomorrow. Gonna put them both to use this weekend :naughty:

I have been wanting to swap in the door speakers, haven't had a chance. I added some kicker ks35s to the dash and they made a huge difference on their own

I put the 6 speaker Kicker setup in my Quad Cap and I am pretty pleased with it. Plug and play pretty good bang for the buck.

What type of tweeter is with that front set? Silk? And what is the equivalent of that set to the Cs, KS,,, series? Thanks!

My 2015 Ram Sport already comes with the factory Alpine sound system. Should I upgrade these speakers, or are mine already upgraded? How do I find out?

Those 6x9 look just like the ones that came with my Jeep Grand Cherokee upgrade kit (77KICK11AB).

The tweets are different.

unfortunately they sounded like crap since I did not have the updgraded stereo.
Also sounded like crap in my 96 eclipse, probably due to Ohm differences.

I might try the 6x9 in the Ram

I had the Kicker upgrade in my 08 Grand Cherokee and it was excellent. I had the full setup with 6 speakers and the matching amp, though. Had I been thinking, I probably would have yanked them out and kept them for my truck. I just ended up getting aftermarket Kickers for the truck and they're decent.

Ordered mine also and they should be here tomorrow.

Mine showed up as advertised and I got them installed in about 30 minutes and only had a few minutes to try them out. First impressions are, they have deeper bass and a lot more mid to high level than the stock speakers. I only played a couple songs but I'll expand that tomorrow and see what I see.
