Navigation issues

Hello, my 2016 3500 doesn't get used much. It seems that the navigation will not accept certain commands. It will recognize the state when spoken but will not accept the city. It keeps saying " you can not go back any farther". I did cancel the Uconnect earlier but it seemed to work just fine afterwards. Has anyone else had difficulties like this?

Does it show your correct vehicle location on the navigation map?

Are you getting any errors on the 8.4 screen? The only reason I ask is that my new Rebel with 800 miles on it just had the entire 8.4AN unit replaced yesterday due to the "Vehicle Phone Requires Service" issue and that can cause Navigation issues.

What version are you running? Maybe there would be a flash update the dealer would or could do.

Just a few thoughts.

Not sure what you are talking about. Yesterday while driving, an update came up on the screen. I installed it but I think it was only for the Uconnect. It still would not work but the lady talking had a different voice.

If you just did a manual install of new software....could be the issue.

What version of UConnect are you running now that its updated?

I'm having my own issues at the moment with the entire 8.4AN head unit..(another thread for another time...too upset right now).

If your Navigation is still having issues a trip to the dealer may be in order.

Just as an afterthought...I'd make sure you're not on a route or anything (not sure why its saying "cant go back any farther". Odd error if you ask me.

Hi biggdadd58,

Sorry to hear about this! Have you tried entering an address manually into your Uconnect system to see if it works that way? This will help determine if it is an issue with voice commands or the navigation system itself.

I can start to enter them manually but after 3 letters if takes over and gives me options to pick from and those aren't even close to the cities. I have a trip planned next week to the dealer but I have little faith with them after all the other issues.

Hi biggdadd58,

We would recommend checking that you have the correct State selected in your navigation settings as this can cause the system to populate the wrong cities. Let me know if this helps!

Hi,
I found your post on the form and wondered if you can help me, I have a Ram 2014 Outdorsman with the 8.4N Uconnect system Hardware part number 68224525AM. I downloaded and flashed the 17.11.07 update a few months ago and the 17.43.01 both from the Uconnect website. Upon installing 17.43.01 update I did a factory reset and lost my navigation I have a “Naviserver: Undefined” error and database is missing. I have contacted Uconnect unhelpful, except to tell me to take it to the dealer and said the unit had to be replaced. Everything else works fine. I also noticed the gps setting for the clock is also missing. I tried to flash the 17.11.07 but can go backwards. Any help would be appreciated.
