Looking for a little knowledge and could not find a thread on this.

I have a 2014 1500 Laramie with the 8.4 audio system. I have a company car so my truck sits at times for a week or longer. About two weeks ago I hopped in for a ride and noticed that all of my presets for the satellite radio had changed to stations I never listen to. I could not figure what happened, so I just reset them.

Well today the same thing. My truck has been sitting for over a week, my wife took it to work this AM while I took hers to the dealership for service. After which I drove to her job and picked up my truck, (her CUV is a little small for me) and ran a few errands. As soon as I turned on the radio I noticed it was again on strange (to me) stations. Asked the wife and she noticed they were different when she got in it. :word:

Anyone else have this issue? I'm wondering if the battery isn't failing and the first thing to go are my presets???

Thanks in advance,

If you have no other bad battery indications like hard starts or lights dimming when a load is applied, I would not so much be looking at a battery.

My areas of concern would be looking either a flaking head unit on it's way out or possible intermittent ground issues.

sounds like headunit is losing power when turned off. It does have an internal battery that will keep it a little while but if the constant power is not going to it for whatever reason it would lose memory. Is it missing all presets and time or just satellite?

I leave my truck at home for 3 weeks at a time and it gets down to -35*c , but never had problems with presets or loosing any information on my 8.4a unit .

Like Hootbro mentioned , you might have a intermittent loose connection

It is just clearing and changing the satellite presets, nothing else.

Thanks

Nope, no other starting issue, (other than the HEMI tick when she sits for a while) just the changing of the satellite presets.

Thanks, this information give me a starting place.

Scratch the ground stuff if it is just satellite presets. Sounds like a head unit problem then.

Have you updated the connect software to the newest version??? I know there was some kind of problem like this and the radio randomly changing to AM for no reason it all. That's the problem I had but after updating the problem is gone.
