Problem with cruise control

So I will turn my cruise control on and it will work for a while then it just stops working for no reason without me hitting the brake. Any ideas what causes this????

I have the same problem with my 2011? My cruise control switch was replaced, no help. Only difference now is I can only turn on the cruise when I am stopped. Then it works unless I hit a big bump. Have tried adjusting the brake switch to and still no joy. ???

Yeah I had the recall done on the steering wheel but it did the same thing before that was done. Not sure what the deal is with it. Sucks on long trips. I heard some computer update was needed but it was like several hundred dollars for the dealership to update it. Maybe this is a cause

Does your traction light come on?

I've had my truck for less than a month now and my cruise will stop working, but a traction light comes on.

Dealer said bad steering control module and ordered a new one.

If something is triggering the brake lights (ie faulty switch, drooping pedal or electrical etc) to come on, it could be causing the cruise to stop working, assuming its turning itself off on its own. Harley cruise control will do the same thing as a redundancy if the brake switches are faulty.

I use to have a similar problem and while it was at the dealer they did all open recalls and updated the computer. This has fixed my cruise control problem for the most part

On my old 2012 I had that happening to me as well. It ended up being a bad brake pedal switch. I was going down the road at night and had a new recliner in the back. I could see my third eye brake light on while cruising down the Interstate.On a different day leaving work a co worker was following me and asked me why I like to ride my brakes? lol

Mine will turn off sometimes when I try to increase the speed via the increase button on the wheel. Never had it turn itself off without me hitting the increase button thiigh

Cruise Control Ain't Cruisin' !!!

Nothing happens when I press the "ON" button - no additional lights at all - the cruise control is completely dead.
The only thing I've done so far is check all fuses - all good.

Any thoughts on what to check next?

I had my cruise control not work yesterday and then when I shut the car off and turned it back on after making a stop, it worked. I havent checked today but a light came on indicating a wheel is slipping and I have no idea why. Didn't shut off until I shut the truck off.

In my 2016 this happened and they replaced the steering wheel control unit. Also happened in my 2012 and it was a bad ABS sensor.

Brought my truck in for service. I was told there was an update that dealt directly with the cruise control. just an FYI
