I didnt realize how good of a job it does until I had to take it out for a few days after having it installed for about a month. If you didn't already know where my sub was located and sat in my truck with ur eyes closed, you would have no idea where it is. You'd prob think it was under the dash. Hard to explain, but bass just seems to radiate through out the cab. I listen to a lot of rock and metal, and never heard such realistic kick/bass drums.

Oh if anyone is curious why our base model touch screens and 130's on 09-12 Ram's sound so crappy when the volume is up is they start distorting bad at just half volume. So on the RBZ touch screen 27 is the safe volume and as soon as you bump it it 28 full distortion not just a little blip but 100% square signal.

I'm hoping so now I kinda want to check out the alpine amp and see where that starts distorting.

You know, ... I was in my friends 14' Ram with the Alpine system the other night and we were listening to some Blue October. That system has decent tone to it, it really does IMO.
However, my friend could only turn the volume up to 32 or 34 which is a comfortable listening level and it remained very clear, and clean....but with the windows down we needed/wanted a lot more output. That system's factory eq settings/dsp, in the amp really tames lower frequencies down when you turn the volume up (probably to protect the speakers)

I should say max volume on the older radios is 38 so I mean after amplification I shouldn't want for more output at all. The neat thing is it was really hard to get the signal to distort going into the dsp at 27 and when I mean hard I mean eq on stock head unit had to be at +9 for everthing.

Well kicker is really the only plug and play option but with new amps you will be running wire to the doors and dash, not an overly difficult thing to do specially since you will have your interior apart doing other upgrades.
That is the sub, bradknob has such good things to say about those that I am seriously considering getting two of them and hiding them from my wife lol.

I think I'll get two of them. Is the amp I am getting sufficient to for two of them?

Or is two 12s too much for the truck?? I am definitely not trying to rattle any engine parts loose, just want clean, strong bass.

If I was to replace my door speakers, what would you guys recommend???

If I am getting good quality amps and subs, I am pretty sure I will want to upgrade my remaining speakers as well.

Oh yeah you will have plenty of head room this is where I will tell you to be very gentle with gains as these like to see 450w RMS each. You will have about 1300w rms on tap.

Well here is where its tough, you have to go listen to different stuff. What I preffer might not be what you preffer. I like tweeters that are more laid back and not harsh up top, others like that really high sparkle. So it is very much personal prefference. If you can find a mid to high end audio dealer that is where I would start.

I am like you, I don't like the harsh tweeters. I prefer everything to be moderate and refined.

My stereos at home have been Bose for decades. I love their clarity and I am ok with them NOT being super loud with pounding bass. That is my taste in sound.

Gains are how you match the input signal from your source to you amplifers. To much of it will clip the signal and thats not good for equipment (roast a subwoofer quickly). There are tons of videos online to show you how to set them but the most accurate would be with an Ociliscope and a digital multi meter (DMM). We can help you along the way when you start setting it up.

I do have my Hertz ET20 tweeters that are mounted up in my dash right now that I really enjoy and have been the most accurate tweeter I've ever owned. The only bad thing is since they are reflecting off the windshield I do have to EQ them down a bit to be more laid back.

Oh and my dyna audio MW150's are a bit small for our doors but play everything so nicely. I even had them playing down too 40hz last night without any problems.

The SI subs don't need a lot of power and I think 2 of them would sound amazing. You can give them 300 watts a piece and still sound great. But, as an advocate of more power = more better, lol, I'd give them as much as they can handle
If you got it.

As far as door speakers... Do you plan on replacing the tweeters and the doors? Or just the doors? You would prob be better off buying a component set with tweets, mid and crossovers included.

Ok so two subs it is. :) :favorites13: <--- Kinda early for that, lol

I don't mind replacing all of it. What is a good component set, similar quality to the other things I am getting??

I will be getting the SI subs and I ordered these amps - Skar SK-125.4D & SK-1200.1D, from Etroze.

Speakers with a crossover is for sure a good place to start since it doesn't sound like you will be running active right away.
