Remote Start Hood Pin Help

Hi,

I bought the Directed 4X10 Digital Remote Start System and the THCHC1 T-Harness and the Python 9316P RF Kit. The Directed instructions are requiring a hood pin switch input. My 2012 RAM 1500 Express does not have the latch with the switch installed. What can I do for a work around?

The Python should have come with one.

Mount it toward the top driver side. I'll see if I can find a picture of one on my old truck..

Found an old picture when installing my AMP steps..

You can see the pin switch on the top of the fender area there

yes its a safety thing, but you dont need it for the rs to work.

its not needed for the remote start to work. you can leave it out, or install it if you want the added safety. me, i just turn off the remote start any time i go in for service as a precaution.

The hood pin is not required for the remote start to work.

I know this is an old thread but I’m hoping someone will still help lol. I have a 2010 Ram big horn. So if I get a keyfob with the remote start button and activate remote start with alpha OBD I don’t have to have a hood pin safety switch?
