Remote start range......

Well, something is up with my Viper 5701. I used to be able to sit in my office and start the truck. Now, I have to be within 50ft. Office is.........well, a LONG way away. Kinda pointless to start it and then hit the door 20 seconds later. LOL

Any ideas on what I should look for? Or just bite the bullet, say F it and get the one that hooks to my iphone? HA!

don't tempt me.........

Honestly, I've had this one for 2 years, and its been great - but damnit if I don't start the truck when move. (keys in pocket). I was at the post office today shipping some lights to Belguim and Canada, backed up to their dock, hopped in the bed, truck started and it made me jump. LOL

I can't have my phone in my office. And the building is designed to block RF signals, so my remote start is only good for in the mornings at home.

I use my phone and I take my computer every day. LOL

My laptop sits in between my 2 company computers. I look busy as ****.

Dont forget that you can get brand new batteries and they can be bad, or maybe ya need to have the remote reprogrammed to the box.

ha yea...I can see that. Haven't had that problem with mine yet.

Just rock the Iphone...I think that would be sweet. Plus the cool factor of saying "Just starting my truck, with my phone...dont hate"

DBAll took me less than 15 minutes to do. I'm not sure how much the smartstart would complicate the install, though.

JJ, you know you can program the remote start to take two clicks to start the truck, right? I did it from the start to keep accidental start ups from happening. As for the range getting worse, is it even possible that the receiving side of the module is going bad? Like the antenna they put in the truck?
