Well the best way is to use the seatbelt from the middle seat that never gets used, that's what i'm doing but... you have a console and no seatbelt in the middle so I don't really know what to tell ya

Turn the key to the "on" position. And then put the seat belt on and off 3 times. Don't just quickly take it on and off though. It should disable the chime.

I tried this when I read it before and it wouldn't work. But now you say don't do it quickly, so I'll try it again tomorrow and see how it works!

It will disable the chime, but it won't get rid of the stupid message on the EVIC screen.

When it is done and off for awhile it will come back on..it will take a few years or so many key cycles. mine just started back after i turned it off i think in 2006.

Don't you guys read your owners manual? It's all there.

I tried to do that with mine but the light never went off. Is there a way to disable it if the light won't go off . This sequence does not work wit mine.

I think you can only turn the light off by putting on your seatbelt. The chime can be disabled though.

As ramunit said, the procedure is in the least read book of all time. The owners manual.
