I bought 20sft of second skin damplifier pro and i started by doing the back wall of the truck. when i got the second skin, i first noticed how thick the foil is on this stuff and it doesnt smell like some of the others. when i applied it i first cleaned the surface with alcohol and after got to work and started laying and cutting some of the pieces to get the most coverage. after doing the wall i still have enought left over deadener to do either the two doors or the ceiling of the truck.

Nice work, kinda odd seeing a flat black instead of the regular foil backing on this stuff

I was really impressed how much even my cheap generic deadener helped in my RCSB.
I look forward to doing the cab wall on this new truck this spring.

I'm surprised Ram didn't have any here. They have some in the doors.

Well, I'm tempted to use the generic buytle crap I have sitting the garage.
B-Quiet I believe it is. I bought like 3 100' rolls of it ages ago.

But I'm also pretty tempted to get a really good product and expect better.

if you already have it you might aswell use it ...no need to let it go to waste.

second skin is very good product, nice job man. Even though the cheap stuff works it smells and I've heard it could melt since its pretty much like tar in high heat.

The deadening in the doors is a joke and I would start there for sure. I don't hear any resonantes out of my roof but I would imagine the doors would be worse with aftermarket equipment in it than the stock.

I installed some powered 6x9's in the rear (then removed them, one was blown, a Craigslist purchase) and I left one hooked up just to hear the difference between stock. Man, the rear driver door was getting the 5hit! rattled out of it. I think sound dampener is an absolute must in the doors, especially if going aftermarket powered speakers.

I need to do this too. I'll most likely use generic.. name brand is so damn expensive.

I LOVED eDead, but its gone :(

Second Skin is awesome. But pricey.

Its worth the money not having to smell the buytal and know that it will stick on a verticle surface, but thats my opinion and I know guys that swear by peel and seal you get from a hardware store. I went with roadkill since I could get it local mom and pop shop and haven't heard a bad review on it yet. Tons of products out there just do homework when looking for best bang for buck.

i agree with ^^...there is too many name brands...find something that suits your needs and budget. having some deadener is better than not having anything at all.
