First RAM truck and first time I've seen his upgrade pop up. Should I upgrade or leave it alone? Anything I should do before upgrading?

I don't have a 8.4 in my truck, but I do in my car and did it with no issues.

I think it says in the manual that you can delay only so many times and then it will install whether you want to or not.

Don't start it if your truck is running or you will have to keep your truck running till it is done

Oh...okay, I haven't done it yet. Do I keep my truck in ignition mode?

There's supposedly been a fix for that. A guy I know has been complaining to the dealer and they called him the other day to say that a new update was released. I couldn't find a TSB or other details, but his camera definitely looks better now.

I'm on vacation at a hotel and I guess I drove into an area where the update is happening. My question is if I do the update now, how long will I have to sit in the parking lot until I can go back to my room? Don't really want to keep hitting later for the rest of the trip.

When I get back to the hotel the plan would be to turn off truck then back to ACC not engine running, then do the update until it says I can leave it, correct?

Thanks guys.

Hi ScottFL,

The first part of the update takes about 15-20 minutes where you need to leave your ignition on. After that point, you are able to turn the vehicle off. Did you go ahead and do the update this weekend?

Went ahead and did the update, took about 10 minutes for the initial download and then another five minutes on another screen and then it said I could shut it down and leave.

Came back a few hours later and all is well.

Thanks.
