I've been reading a lot about these Mopar rear camera's stop working and I would like to know what exactly makes them stop working? Mine quit 3 years ago just as I went over my 3yr/60k warranty. What's inside of them that could go wrong so often? I'm just thinking outside the box a little....... Thoughts or any insight?

I would guess moisture or corrosion at a connector.

mine died a few weeks ago. I took the camera out of the handle and found nothing wrong. It flickered once and then it went out. It will be replace with OEM once I find one cheap. About $200 for a new one

Has anyone found an aftermarket backup cam that fits in the stock location.

most will fit, sometimes you have to drill the hole a little larger, problem is not all the same connections are used for aftermarket/factory. you would also loose the moving grid lines if you went aftermarket.

So my other question is do all camera's from '09-present work/fit in the handles? Just curious as I was informed that my camera is indeed toast. Now I'm on the hunt for a new(er) one. Up here they "retail" for $400+!! My wife's cost is $250. I'm pretty sure an OEM one can be bought for less than that-even in Canada or on-line somewhere?

So riddle me this: What's the difference between '11 to '13 cameras- 2 different part #'s.? I'm finding that '13+ are cheaper than previous years. But do they work/fit the same?

could be the connections or they way they communicate to the radio/bcm.
