So i have this idea in my head and i just want to see what you guys think.

Im getting a pioneer 5000nex which has gps (im replacing my 3.0 radio) im also getting the sxv300 xm radio tuner.

Now i know if i upgraded to the ra4 i would be able to use the same antenna for gps and xm.

What i was thinking (i think i have the connectors correct) The stock xm/gps antenna connector is a Fakra SMB K 1027 correct? and the XM connection is a RG174? I dont know what the plug for the gps on the radio is yet though.

could i use something like this(but female to female) US Shipping Antenna Adapter for VW Fakra Female to Two Male Y Spliter Adapter | eBay

and two Fakra SMB K 1027 Male Plug to SMB Male 6" RG174 Pigtail Cable Antenna Diversity | eBay
(if the gps is the same plug, different adapter if it isnt)

Sorry if i confused anyone but is it possible? Has anyone done that?

Looking to do exactly that with my Alpine deck but for GPS only. From whst I've found the connector is a GT5 for the xm and it's also a GT5 behind my alpine.

someone on the other forum said all they did was shave the plastic around the stock xm connector and plugged it into the after xm and it worked.

I was able to shave to factory plastic for XM but never tried GPS and I didn't add it to my aftermarket radio.

Perfect fit!

Here's the signal in my driveway with the deck gps antenna on the dash

Now with the adapter using the xm antenna

i ended up stripping the plastic off and plugging it into the gps, it works fine. I could never find a y cable with the right female male setup so i went ahead and threw the xm antenna on my dashboard. It gets a fine signal there
