Well its black and not coming back.

2013 ram 1500 sport with touch screen.

I don't have a warranty and I was trying to search for a way that people might have been able to reset or fix this problem somehow.

I'm nervous I'll have to spend another $2000 ! It's been out for months and I just have been so busy but life without radio and now heat controls is starting to really wear me down.

Any info would be appreciated!

Ps.... I haven't done any recalls yet either

Did you check the usual suspects? Fuses etc? Wiring? Connector? Im sure Dodge has a company that can refurb the radio without you having to buy another one if it has indeed tanked on you.
I wanted the big screen but im kinda glad I went with the 3.0 version. At least if it fails I can go aftermarket and get all the same features it has.

Check fuse and/or try disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes and see what happens....

if it is in fact the radio there are companies out there that fix them. or you can buy a used radio for quite a bit less then a new one.

There are firms out there that fix these head units. Some will also do a core exchange with you, sending you a refurbed unit with a warranty.

It slowly went, as in sections.
First turning blue but then working, then the radio itself stopped by I still had touch screen and climate controls working, then one day nothing, ,,, just black with no sound.
I did disconnect the battery but for about 5 minutes only. I didn't know about a hidden fuse by the master cyclider. ... I'll have a look.
Also what are these companies that will exchange my radio or sell me one cheaper then dealer?
I hope I can just fix it but from what I saw happen, seems like a pc board failure

You can contact NavRepair.com to see if they can fix it or just replace it. If it's a non Nav unit RA3 you can get a used one for around 350 to 400 or less pretty easily if you shop around. If you have a RA4 Nav unit you can pick them up for 500 to 600. They are extremely easy to change. You can also upgrade to the RA4 Nav unit of you have the RA3 non Nav. It's a plug and play swap.

ugh. I'm not trying to downplay your issue but I've said all along that putting what are basically mobile device screens like phones/tablets in vehicles was a ****** idea. These things barely make it 3 years OUT of a vehicle let alone inside one where they get bounced around and subject to temperature changes and at least with a phone/tablet they're not built into a vehicle.

Hi fedup,

Sorry to hear about this! You can check if there are any updates to your Uconnect system by entering your VIN here: https://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/. Also, you can try doing a soft reset of your Uconnect system:

Step 1) Put your vehicle into the accessories mode (ACC or RUN) **For keyless start (push-button) vehicles: push the start button twice without having your foot on the gas or brake pedal**
Step 2) Hold down the Phone and voice recognition buttons, at the same time, for thirty seconds.
Step 3) Let go of the buttons
Step 4) Turn vehicle off
Step 5) Open driver’s side door for thirty seconds
Step 6) Close door
Step 7) Restart vehicle
Step 8) Let the media centre load up and see if concern is still present

Unfortunately, if this doesn't work my next recommendation would be visiting your dealership for further diagnosis. Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Thanks but i can't hold buttons down that I can't see.
Left over truck so new in 2014.... one year later issues, then failure. And I've read many cases like this. Sadly I haven't read anything about a recall on it. Seems like it's built just to last so long so I have to keep pumping in money. This is my first American vehicle in a long time and I'm not feeling good about it. I spent alot of my hard earned money to now have to deal with this headache.
55k truck and I don't have heat or a radio, sad.

You don't have any of your warranty left??? Unless you have a lot of miles on it you should...

Above is talking about the buttons on the steering wheel, not on the radio screen.

I thought even if you bought it used, you still had whatever factory warranty that was left.... I know its that way around here. I bought a car that was 1 year old and it still had the remaining factory warranty. Might want to check into it at the local dodge dealership. You might get lucky!!!

if goes from the original date of service. 3 year 36k from the date of the original purchase. a ram dealer can tell you if its up or not. It doesnt matter how many times the vehicle is sold and re-purchased in that time either.
