Hey guys, got a quick question, maybe I'm just being dumb or maybe it doesn't work. The +/- buttons on my shifting column (shifter on steering wheel stalk) do not seem to do anything at all in tow Haul mode. Ive attempted to push and hold each button down while driving, in drive stopped. Just wondering how to use them.

In tow haul I thought they were to lockout gears. Once you are rolling tap the - button it should show up on the dash what gears are no longer available. The buttons are not for manual control like a sports car, they are to lock gears out of use.

Hey Cbennett534,

This is from the 2011 User Guide--I thought it might help?

"TOW/HAUL MODE
• When driving in hilly areas, towing a trailer, carrying a heavy load, etc., and frequent transmission shifting occurs, press the TOW/HAUL switch to select TOW/HAUL mode. This will improve performance and reduce the potential for transmission overheating or failure due to excessive shifting. When operating in TOW/HAUL mode, transmission upshifts are delayed, and the transmission will automatically downshift (for engine braking) during steady braking maneuvers.
• The “TOW/HAUL Indicator Light” will illuminate in the instrument cluster to indicate that TOW/HAUL mode has been activated. Pressing the switch a second time restores normal operation. If the TOW/HAUL mode is desired, the switch must be pressed each time the engine is started."

This gives me a better understanding of what it does now, when I use tow Haul mode on my truck it will bring up a 5 on my dash. No matter pressing either button stopped or moving it will remain at 5.

its design is to again lock out gears. So what its telling you with the 5 is that is the maximum gear your truck will reach. You only have the 6 speed so that keeps the overdrive and 6th gear locked out.
