Anybody try these lights? I wonder if they would hang down too low and be too close together.

Also, would tying into the reverse lights be too much? Not sure if it would be blinding to people in parking lots while backing up. I usually try to pull through a slot so that I pull forward out of a slot.

That's a lot of money for what it is. You can buy those pods separate Ave just mount them under the bumper for less than half that amount.

Thanks. I am trying to talk myself into doing the bumper install. I really like the looks of that install. I'm just a bit nervous about cutting like everyone else is.

Does anyone recommend connecting to reverse lights or using a separate switch? I have a 6" lift, so they might be blinding to someone in a parking lot

I can't bring myself to cut the bumper, I meant just install the pods under the bumper. You can get plenty of low profile lights that are hard to see when not turned on but still provide great light while backing up. To use a switch it but depends on your usage really. Do you need to activate the lights when not in reverse?

I understood what you were saying; just threw in there what I really would like to do.

The lights would mainly be used for reverse, but may not need them for reverse in a parking lot and it may be annoying to others. ? I don't know. If I put it on a switch, I could use them when reversing in the woods, boat ramps, and such. They would also be available if needing light behind the truck when it may not be conducive to have it in gear such as hooking up a trailer at night or loading materials in the dark. Just thinking out loud.

I liked a post where the guy put tape on his bumper and drew out the lights on the tape before cutting. He didn't just draw the hole to be cut out, but the whole light. I think it may help visualize light placement better.

The one advantage I see of mounting them below the bumper is that you can aim them down a bit if need be.

Looking for any and all input others could give. What they did and if they wish they had done something different. I appreciate your feedback 02blkram47

This is my setup. Just some pods I got on Amazon with good reviews. Tapped into my reverse lights. Mounted them with a 5x5 L bracket, they sit flush with the bottom of the bumper. Have been great for about a year now, and it was inexpensive.

I like you version of the install. Where did you mount the bracket? Since the other end of the bracket sits on top of the bumper does it rattle or allow water to get stuck there? I am wondering for rust reasons.

Mounted the top of the bracket to an existing hole in the tow hitch. And the bracket is very rigid. Doesn't budge at all. Had to put it in a vise to get the slight bend I needed

Yeah those are way overpriced for what you get IMO. I got these off Amazon for $19 and they are awesome. I mounted them to the stock rear bumper by simply drilling through the bottom lip and using the bolts that came with the lights. Tapped them into the reverse wire in the trailer wiring harness. I've since upgraded to the Ranch Hand rear bumper and have the oval LED's that came with it tapped into the trailer wiring harness and the LED pods from Amazon wired to a switch. Amazing light output...

Below are nighttime pics with the stock bumper setup. There's even more light output now with the addition of the oval LED's on the Ranch Hand but I don't have any nighttime pics (yet) of the new setup...

the only problem I see with those is if you tow they are in the way of where you hook the chain on. you will be able to hook it but the chain will be dangling on the lights and bracket.

For those that did a flush mount in the bumper

1. Any problems with the back-up sensors?
2. What flush mount kit did you use. I would like high output and flood pattern.
3. Does 4"x4" fit or should I go with the 2"?

I have decided to go to a 3 way switch. I don't want them on all the time when in reverse and want the capability to use them without having to be in reverse.

Any input from someone who has flush mounted these would be appreciated.

These are the same lights I have that I will be installing in a similar position but just slightly wider. Great night shots, thanks for posting.

Having trouble finding a pic of these installed on the rear laramie bumper with sensors and exhaust cut-outs.

Wish I had a template so I could check for placement and clearance before ordering

Same here. I don't think sensors will be an issue if the lights are mounted under the bumper, but I guess you never know.
