Uconnect 5.0 issue

Hey guys, so my uconnect 5.0 radio this morning locked up 3 times. The radio still worked and volume went down but everything else was locked up. The compass and setting buttons didnt do anything. The backup camera wouldnt come on. When i shut the truck off and pulled the key out the radio would still stay on. When I put the key back in it would restart the unit and would work for a while but froze again. I had xm radio on if that could be a issue. Any ideas, i hate the dealer cause they are not helpful in the least bit. Its a 2016 wih 3000 miles on it. I hoping its a easy reset but it seems to be random.

I had a similar issue this morning too. On my way to work which is a 20 minute drive my radio froze for three seconds but then shut itself off and turned back on on it's own. It did that at least twice. I hate going to the dealer too.

Yeah, same here guys. The volume on the radio turns off and the buttons are unresponsive, then the screen goes blank. Then a minute or two later the radio re-boots and all is back to normal. I was worried i was the only one.!

I'm from long island too... hmm makes me feel better i wasnt the only one with this problem. I have had the truck since july and never had this before.

Question, mine also did it when I was on FM. Do you all have active Sat Radio accounts?

Mine did it on both regular radio and satellite. Didn't seem to make a difference.

Man I was just about to post this too. Mine did the exact same thing about 3 times this morning.

EDIT: I have the 5.0 also

+1 on having this issues.

New 2017 that I've only had for three days lol. I have a trial SAT radio but was listening to my phone when it bugged out. Happened about three times. Went from playing the radio to completely soft reboot. Black screen and all, booted up like it does when you start the car.

Very strange

EDIT: I have uconnect 5.0 in the truck

Same problem with my 5.0 today.

I had a 1hr drive this morning and it happened every 6-8 min.

I have XM and that's all it stays on.

Yesterday it was staying on the "acquiring satellite signal" screen, but the stations came though fine. I couldn't change channels using the knob.

In the 3 min it's taken to write this message sitting in my truck, my radio has shut down twice.

Edit...:: mine is a 2016. I have an appt at the dealer today for warranty work on this truck I've had less than a month. Going to ask them about my radio and document.

I was listening to my phone as well. Can we add a poll on who was doing what? maybe it will help narrow this down somehow? I do have active satellite as well if that makes a difference.

the first time it froze i was in my driveway i restarted the truck and it worked. the second time it happened i was driving and it restarted itself then worked. only to happen a few minutes later. but now i m at work and my truck is in a garage so I dont have a signal to check it. everyone post updates if you contact the dealer.

Seems to be happening with Jeeps as well. My wife has a Renegade, and the 5.0 uconnects are having this same issue.

The only 'over the air' signaling our trucks get is via SXM so SXM is hitting us with something that's locking up our radios. I'll also let my dealer know, may help if some of you do too. If FCA gets in touch with SXM maybe they will figure it out my Memorial Day
