Is it possible to add a aftermarket Mic to the OEM U-connect 5.0, my truck came with a 3.0 and a friend is giving me his 5.0 to install

What year is your truck? This only works for 2013+ trucks!!

You're best bet is to get the mirror with mics and replace the mirror header harness (@ $30) that goes up the passenger A pillar to the mirror.

Edit: people who have patched in an aftermarket mic previously have not been satisfied with the results.

do you have the info on tapping into it with an aftermarket mic? its not a long term thing, its more of a curiosity thing lol, i have a few double din radios and stuff laying around but i wana play with the 5.0 for a little bit

You can find radio C1 connector pinout and schematics ...

My 2013+ Shared Schematics and other OEM Info

Note: best place to tap the microphones is at the i340 connector behind the passenger side air vent... then at the radio.

2013 set has the most connector sheets
