Uconnect update 8.4 ram 2015

im trying to update my uconnect to the latest software

Update 2:
UCONNECT_8.4AN_RA4_17.11.07_MY15
SERVICE BULLETIN ID: TSB-08-047-17
RELEASE DATE: 2017-05-05


i installed the update to my USB ...i plugged it into my vehicle and nothings popping up...no update logo nothing...wtf do i do? ive tried in run position also....

Hi stevens,

This latest update is over-the-air. You will not be able to download it via USB. If we have an email address on file for you, you should be receiving an email prior to receiving the OTA update to let you know it will be happening.

I received my email a month ago, but I still haven't received the OTA update. What's the usual time between the email, and the update? Thanks.

We've been seeing several days to a month--so a broad span of time. One thing to keep in mind is that it is a very large file to download, so if you do not always have sufficient cellular service/tower access, it may take longer to download and then be ready to update.

Its a crappy update anyway. I can no longer play .mp3 in song order off the drive. It plays them in alphabetical order. Also, Bluetooth connection time is sginificantly longer, and I have to disconnect and reconnect the paired audio devices nearly 100% of the time to get music to play from my phone.

I was told that I needed U-Connect Software updated to at least 17.11.07 in order to get my maps updated. I currently have 15.26.1 loaded on a 2014 Longhorn that was built for Canada. I purchased it after it was imported back into the US. First I was told to "register"
the system from Canada to the US, which was taken care of. Next thing I was told was that since it was originally a Canada vehicle, that it would not update past the present software 15.26.1 and if I wanted a map update to go to the US version in the Canadian download section for the map update (at a significant cost). The only thing that I see that I don't have is the "emergency and U-Connect buttons on the rear view mirrow. I was told that the reason for not updating was that the Canidian infrastructure was different and that U-Connect did not work in Canada. Now that the vehicle is "registered" in the US through a Canadian U-Connect tech, I see no reason that I should not be able to update to the latest software updates for the vehicle. Since the U-Connect website tells me that there is no updates for my vehicle, the next thing is to obtain the update file here. Can someone tell me if this is what I want to do and also what is the best file date/version to update my radio to, if possible?

If the update is anything like what happened to our 2018's, then don't do it
