Uconnect and Waze app

Do I suppose to have UConnect app on while using WAZE or any other GPS app for that matter? I wouldn't think I need the Uconnect app.

Are you able to put Waze on your uconnect, or are you all running it from your phones? When I go to the uconnect app-store, the only option I have is to ad a 3G wi-fi hotspot to my truck for an incredible cost per day.

Am I missing something, should there be other apps appearing in my uconnect store?
