Unconnect?

Hey guys, picked up my 2017 Ram 2500 yesterday. I connected my iPhone with no problems but my question is do I have the ability to get the uconnect apps, etc? I don't see any uconnect buttons up by mirror or radio. I have the hands free ability

Do you have the 8.4" touchscreen radio or the 5.0" ?

Sounds like you have the 5.0" RA2 / VP2 radio .

Then you do not have the uconnect apps sir .
The apps are only available on factory installed RA3 & RA4 8.4" Radios .

So no kind of add on? Just have to look for used radio with app capabilities?

Not possible for Uconnect apps access unless the truck is equipped with the RA3 or RA4 from the factory.

The RA2 you have is only capable of a backup camera , compass & hands free blutooth to my knowledge.

If having apps is that important to you , you could go aftermarket or upgrade to an RA3 or RA4 factory radio & get a customtronix kit for mirroring your phone and use apps from your phone like Netflix or whatever. ....but no way to get the uconnect apps unless it's a FACTORY installed unit .

I'd hold out... See if they release one with android auto or apply carplay. Then upgrade to that.

The stock voice recognition and the interface for the navigation is super clunky. It's not even close to being on par with the voice stuff on my android phone.

Agreed. The nav in my new 2017 is an incredible disappointment. Like I'm so pissed with it.

I was trying to find the nearest Tim Horton's and the system called my aunt instead.

I sent an email to corporate asking if they can deactivate my nav and refund my money. There should be a class action suite on that BS of a system.
