So my 2014 ram 1500 4x4 with the uConnect 5.0/RA2 has this weird clipping noise when playing my ipod though the USB. Now, it is only with the usb and it isn't constant, and seems to be at random times when a song is played, and sometimes doesn't happen at all. The ipod cord and ipod were used in my last car/radio setup and i did not have this. Any thoughts on what it could be, or maybe a fix? The noise is short and high pitched clipping type noise.

I purchased a RA2 Radio and it had this issue...sold it on eBay with known issue and was able to buy another from a member on the forum and no longer have the issue.

Some of the head unit USB inputs have a clocking issue - aka jitter - and require an update.

What head unit do you have?

Hi Dryates,

Sorry to hear about this! We would recommend entering your VIN here to see if there are any software updates for your Uconnect system:https://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/. We would also recommend trying a certified Apple USB cord if you aren't using one already.

It is an apple cord and apple ipod. I used this exact cord and ipod in my last car/radio and did not have this clipping. I think im going to try a USB drive with music to see if it does it with that also. If it does, i would assume that it is either the radio or the USB in the truck. The Aux port does not do this, nor the bluetooth or the radio itself, only with the ipod on USB.
