What Gear Am I In?

In my 2016 RAM Laramie edition, is there a way to display what gear I'm in without having to press buttons on my steering wheel? If there is, I cannot find it. If there isn't, SHAME ON YOU RAM!!!! lol

If your driving an automatic transmission and not needing to control shifting for towing(or racing), what does it matter what gear the transmission is in?

Without a scan tool or pressing the steering wheel buttons, there is no display of what gear you're in. The only way would be to carefully pay attention. The 8 speeds are very smooth & almost slow shifting. Kind of hard to tell without watching the tach.

The new Ford with the 10 speed is supposed tp show a column with the 10 numbers and indicate which gear the trans is in. Also, it is supposed to shift more than one gear at a time.

wihtout being in override mode, so no eco mode, there isnt a way. You can hit the gear +/- till you see 8, then as it shifts through you will see what gear its in. It will not let it use eco mode in this situation though.

Well you could audibly count the gears. But to answer your question, no there is not a way.
