What's the difference between the RBZ/RHB and the RHR Radio?

I was looking through my Ram Owners Guide and noticed there are two versions of the touch screen radios that were available for the 2012 Rams.

There is an RBZ/RHB radio and a RHR radio, both touch screen.

Does anyone know the major differences between them and which one is considered to be the "better" radio to have?

I have the crappy RES with Sirius radio and I'm looking to upgrade but most aftermarket 3rd party radios just look too flashy and not oem enough for me. I like the clean OEM look, not the chrome, flashy, futuristic look all these aftermarket double din touch screen radios have today.

That's an interesting site, not sure it's accurate.. I have the 430N in my Longhorn and that unit connects to my phone via Bluetooth and shows up as uconnect in my phone.

Do you have handsfree and a rearview mirror with the mics in it already???

One of the radios has everything built into it and the other you need to add the handsfree module which is separate.... I had a RER in my 2010 Challenger and all I needed to add was a ext. mic and a GPS antenna.

You want an RHR(730) high speed bus radio, (double check that, as I know a Challenger is low speed and a Ram radio won't work.) It has everything built in and then You should need a External mic and GPS antenna. That's assuming you have the base radio without any handsfree option.

One of the touch screens has built in blue tooth (730) the other the (430) has an available add on uconnect blue tooth kit sans 300.00 new on top of buying the radio. One other very important point is they come in high and low speed bus. The Rams require the high speed bus.

I have the 430N and I'm not aware of an additional piece. Where would that be?

Guys I already have u connect in my truck with my current RES radio. I have the hands free buttons on my steering wheel and the microphone all setup and came with them from the factory.

So if I already have all of that stuff, which radio would be best and also which would be truely plug and play? Looking mainly to get touch screen NAV and keep my sirius radio.

Both a 730N RHR (or an older RER), and the 430N RHB will work. If you go with the RHB, it's basically plug and play. You "might" need to change your antenna with one that does both GPS and Sirius for the nav to work (05064908AA), I'm not sure what antenna the 2012's had. If you go the RHR route, you need to get a bypass cable to the mirror, (82211666), and the antenna. If you happen to go with an RER, you would need the mirror cable and a separate GPS antenna. The RHB and RHR has two fakra connectors, (one does both SAT and GPS), the RER has three. One other thing to think about are the maps, The RHB uses Garmin, the other two use Navteq. The RHB can be updated much cheaper then the Navteq, (google and a couple of hours of reading is your friend here).
