Back in the day there was only AM stations and vacum tube radios. In the sixties I had a 45rpm record player in my 55 DeSoto. It was all ****, but that were it started. If you had a 9 transistor radio you were golden. As for the antenna, to remove the whole thing the inter fender well needs to be pulled to reach the bottom of it. The antenna feed wire is two piece. To just replace the antenna wire sticking up in the air, unscrew it. I use a piece of leather and vice grips. I use a hidden antenna under the dash, it is not quite as good as the fender mounted ant but for the little I listen to the radio it is good enough.
