2007 Ram 1500. The fan motor has been intermittently working and not working. I replaced the blower motor resistor already because it looked corroded / old. This did nothing as the blower motor now does not kick on at all. I have heard rumors that a worn ignition switch can of intermittent operation of the blower fan, but would like some confirmation from those that have worked this problem already.

I don't understand how a worn ignition switch would prevent your blower motor from working. There is no direct connection at all from ignition switch to blower motor, if the ignition switch would cause your issue, you would lose the whole ignition circuit. Are you losing power to anything else when the blower stops?

Easiest thing to do is unplug the blower and check for voltage at the plug with a multimeter. If you don't have a multimeter, go to harbor freight and pick one up for 10 dollars. If you have power at the plug, then your blower motor is bad. If there is no power at the plug, your issue is elsewhere in the circuit, such as the switch or a broken wire somewhere. Since you have the TIPM, I don't believe there are any relays or fuses for the blower.

A new development yesterday. It appears that when the passenger side door is shut it causes the blower fan to work again. Since the ignition switch has some slop in it and I actually ordered a replacement blower motor from Rock Auto I'll just install them and then have peace of mind knowing that these components are new again on a 9 year old truck.

04 2500. Same issue. I replaced the blower motor, the resistor and the control unit. No luck. So as a last resort, I took it to the dealer. It is the ignition switch, but not where you actually put the key. It's under the steering column enclosure, behind the tilt mechanism. I found a vid on youtube. Doesn't seem overly complicated to change. Going to give it a shot, at least the parts are cheaper if don't pay dealer prices.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfUrJ5vHfGk
