cd/nav screen blacks out

Nav screen is going black after truck gets warmed up. The entire radio still works while this is is taking place.looking for advice on issue and solution without having to replace the deck
Overheating ? Fan issue?

I know this is old, but had same issues with the grand cherokee ones which are identical. Radio is toast, there is no known fix that you can find online to do yourself. Only one company knows how to repair them and the costs for that service you can buy something way more advanced. Not worth it.

I'll bet that is a REC/NAV head unit and I had to get mine fixed. I did find several outfits that will either 1) fix it and send it back, or, 2) send you a refurb unit less a core charge for yours.

The cold solder joints on some of the IC's fail and the card can be re-soldered if you know how to isolate the fault and can do such repairs.
