finally 100% complete with the installation. Kenwood ddx418, garmin gps, backup camera, dvd, everything up and running (except bluetooth, but could care less about that). Really wanted to stick with oem, bc i didn't want some tacky aftermarket unit that ruined the look of the interior, but i think it looks pretty stock, and very happy with the purchase-other than the total cost lol. Was gonna go with pioneer, but chose kenwood instead, mainly for the garmin powered navigation. Have had a few garmin handheld units and love them. As seen in the pics, the backup cam is extremely tiny, but has great view and clarity. Here's the pics of the final install, what u guys think?

also figured out how the backup cam operates with this unit. Upon shifting into reverse, it doesn't automatically override the screen and pop up the cam, if u want to access the cam u have to hold the function button for a second or so to get into the camera menu. Although, every time the truck is started the screen automatically pops up for the camera, and kicks on with reverse. Guess aftermarket units operate differently with the cams. Could probably re-wire it to override the screen every time i hit reverse, but oh well. I think it would be kind of distracting if the screen was switching every time anyway. This way it's automatically in camera mode every time i get in the truck to drive (can also turn this feature off), or i can just hold the button to access it.

Tried out the ipod feature tonight and downloaded a pic of my truck in the background. This thing just gets better and better! As soon as it picks up the ipod, all the songs are right there on the screen and i can scroll right through them.

Looks good. I want to do the same thing. How much did it cost in total (if you don't mind my askin')?

My brother in law just picked up that same unit from best buy. He purchased before taking the time to see how much it would cost to put in his car. He is selling it for $650 plus shipping if there is any interest.

It is definitely a nice unit. Love the garmin integration on the kenwood units.
