Any body used one. Can't afford a new HU at the moment but wanting to put some thump in my truck. Found some on sonicelectronix, just wondering how they work.

I've had one in two previous vehicles and they worked good enough for me. First one was an old beater that I wasn't going to buy a new head unit for and the last one I liked the factory head unit and never found a replacement I liked with an aux input. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but they tie into your factory door speakers and will only let a certain frequency of sound pass through. Hence the name. They'll usually have 4 input wires, 2+ from speakers and 2- and a set of RCA jacks to run to the amp powering your subs

It's better to wire into a left and right speaker so you'll get sound from both sides. If you're running subs and only have the loc wired to one speaker, you might miss some music lol
