polk or alpine

well i have narrowed it down to 2 .... polk db's or alpine E's

going for 2- 10 inch subs .

here is the polk ...

# 10" Single 4 Ohm db Series Subwoofer
# Power Handling:

* Peak: 540 watts
* RMS: 270 watts

# Impedance: 4 Ohms

and here is the alpine ....

* Sensitivity: 84 dB
* RMS Power Range : 250 Watts
* Peak Power Handling: 750 Watts
* Impedance: 4 Ohm
* Low Frequency response: 29 Hz
* High Frequency Response: 1000 Hz
* Diameter: 10 Inch

im running them with a kicker 400.1 amp that has a rating of 486 watts so im going to get ruffly 240 watts rms ..

your thoughts

im going to order this friday .

but seriously... have your heard either of them? if not, find a store that has them and go listen to them. either one COULD be a good choice, but you wont know until you hear them for yourself

Personally, I'd say neither. But, depends on your budget, and what sounds better to you.

it really is a tough choice, but i voted for polk because you already have polk in the doors. Also I have a polk home threater system and LOVE it. lol

Dude the best way to do it, is take your Ipod, a favorite CD, tape, 8 track whatever..to your local store that sells these brands and listen to them. See what sounds best.

most speaker shops in the closest city dont carry them . and if they did they have them in custom boxes that make them sound better than they probably should .

they are comparable subs so they really should perform almost the same. Its bass.....not like you are reproducing vocals and highs.

10-4 ... i will go with the alpines only because they have better wire terminals i guess
