Hi,

i want to add a alarm/remote start to my 2007 Ram and do it by myself, because i had no shop around here in Germany who sells viper alarms. My question ist, what parts are needed for the install. Do i need a bypass module? if yes which one? i read the xpresskit Hp but can´t find the right module and t-harness (if available). I prefer the Viper 5706v system which comes with a 2-way responder and the remote start.

or is there a chance to remote start the truck with the factory remote without buying the expensive factory remote start module.
i hope someone can help me :)
greets
Oli

hi guys,

so at the weekend i installed a Python 5706p with a DB-ALL2 bypass interface at my truck (07 Ram). The alarm section works fine but when i try to remote start the truck, the ignition trys to come up and shuts down after 1 sec. it trys 3 times and then the FOB shows "remote start error". I wired up like shown in the DB-ALL2 wiring instruction Type 3c.

I have wired the ignition and CANbus part at the right ignition harness of the steering column. the Tach wire is connected with the DB-ALL2 and the neutral safety is grounded. The switch is on the "on" pssition.

When i put the Checkup engine menu from "tachometer" or "virtual Tach" to "off" the ignition stays at the second attempt on. Fan,Clima, Radio works but it won´t crank.

I searched for a starter wire but on the left side ignition connector i have no starter wire.

Any chance to get this thing working? i think its only a trifle that it doesn´t start up...

I looked at the12v.com but can´t find anything...

Stick shift or automatic. With a stick shift the clutch must be depressed or the truck will not start. With an automatic it must be in park and if I am not mistaken the brake must be depressed.

automatic.. the system is set to "automatic mode" and the negative safety wire is put to ground.
i´m going to hardwire the whole stuff and try it again. i think the system misses one signal in D2D mode for starting up the engine...
or i must connect the 3 fused wires from the remote start harness to 12v constant althought i didn´t need them according to the DB-ALL wiring diagram

Quick question, hopefully you're still here. I was wanting to install the 5706v on my '08 1500, what all did you connect from the actual Viper wiring bundles?

If I'm assuming correctly, connecting the DBALL with the T-harness to the vehicle takes out most of the wiring I'd have to do. Pictures maybe of the Viper control module?
