right now i have a dual 10" fox box in the back of my truck, no subs. as i have been laying out my near fututre mods i have been trying to decide if i need two subs or just one. whats the input guys should i just keep the box and run 2 off a pdx-1.1000 or get a single and run it off a pdx-1.600? currently i have type-r components up front and type-r coaxials in the rear running off a pdx-4.100. im only looking to save around 200.00 going the single sub, money isnt the issue, i just dont want the subs to overpower my speakers. i want everything to sound perfect

i think ill just go duals. and save the hassle of finding a single box. alpine did just release a bass knob for the pdx amps. and the HU has a level adjuster as well

1 ported, 1 sealed. Testing which one I want.

Now........just have to figure out how I want the sealed one set up. Its cut for a 8" square right now - I am thinking of doing a 10" square.......but I would need a new sub. I'm not really wanting to sell a single (cheap) sub - which I would need to if I got a new sub. I can cut the 8" square to a 10" round though, and use the same sub.

We'll see.

every time I do a ported box............I go back to sealed. Then when I have sealed I think "damnit, I want ported".

What I need to do is set up a switch in the truck. Flip it for rap songs to send it to the ported box........for regular stuff, sealed. LOL

You'd have to run 2 amps, one for each box, and have them wired to a switch of some kind. That way, you could could kill power to whichever box you didn't want to listen to

i think it could work but i would be concerned about the integrity of the components with all the vibration. simpler would be best. i like the idea really. im going to have a look at my box tomorrow....

you would have to run 2 amps and have one of those double switches that is hooked up to both of the amps remote wires. flip the switch one way and one amp turns on, flip the switch the other way the other amp turns on.

This might sound dumb but what is the difference between a sealed and ported box??
