So my friend came over the other night and we hooked up my subs to his truck. They came on and seemed to be working fine, but it almost sounded like they were blown. The subs are fusion power plants. I've had em for over five years and never had a single problem with them. They have been sitting for the last year when I took them out of my exploder. They are in a shared ported sub. Could they have been under powered or making the noise because they were in an open garage? Im really wanting to sell them cuz they are way too much for my truck but I don't wanna sell then if they are messed up.

by under powered i meant that the battery i had them hooked up too has been sitting for a year also. it's a stinger gel cell(i think). amp came on and the subs worked.

well they look wired right. you may check the jumper cables inside to make sure one hasnt come loose. what battery did you hook them up on? the amp needs 14.4 volts to operate at what its rated for and that is what your alt puts out. just running my system with my truck off and my acc on i am only pulling 12 votls from the battery so if the batery you are using isnt fully charged or going bad you may not be pushing hardly any power to the amp.

how high was the gain set , and the sub controls, and base controls on the hu set? did you have a hp or lp filter running? sorry for the questions there is just so much tweaking on theses things now days

The gain is cranked, place I got em said that it wouldn't blow em. I use to pound the **** out of em and never had a problem when they were installed. I did pull both speakers and check the wires inside, they we fine. Im thinking the battery doesn't have the charge it should, had em hooked to the stinger that's been sitting for a year. When I pulled them out I was suprise how shallow they were. Haven't seen them out since they were put in the box. Got a feelin they were makin noise became they were gavin into the garage. Not having a vehicle handy to put them in to test them sucks
